To be an excellent resource and logistics partner to OCE Ministry Units in support of the Salvation Army's mission to share love of Jesus Christ, meet human needs and be a transforming influence in the communities of our world.
We are here to SERVE YOU our ministry unit partners! We see you as our frontline operatives and whatever we can do to help you fulfil the above mission we are here to try our best.
Logistics has many definitions. Here are a couple of favourites:
Logistics is the process of planning and executing the efficient transportation and storage of goods from the point of origin to the point of consumption.
Logistics the function of getting the right thing to the right place at the right time, efficiently and securely.
We recognize the centrality of what we do to help the effective execution of your ministry activities. We understand that if we don’t do our job well there are downstream repercussions. We don’t take our role in the Salvation Army Supply Chain lightly. We want to be an asset not a liability. We want to be an enabler and a blessing to you and your work sharing the love of Jesus with those in our communities who come to us for help. What a privilege to be part of God’s work every day!
Here are a few inspirational quotes that encapsulate how central we see what we do to the successful fulfilment of our collective mission at Salvation Army:
"Tactics may win battles but logistics wins wars"
"Amateurs talk tactics. Professionals talk strategy. Realists talk logistics"
Our hope and confidence is in God to be able to do this well for His glory and the extension of His Kingdom through our work.
